On Monday, I held a brain in my hand. It wasn't as squishy as I imagined it to be; it fit nicely in my palm, and because of the bright pink latex they injected post-mortem, I could see the perfect symmetry of the arteries on its ventral aspect... and it was very very pretty.

I think congratulations are in order, because I have just survived what must have been the worst 4 days of my LIFE. Well, to be fair, the first day was relatively alright, but the subsequent 2 days were hell.. and the last day was just hellish because I got a grand total of 1.5 hours of sleep. No one should sleep so little! NO ONE!

This time, when I say I'm dead for anatomy, I really am dead. I got high Ds for both my intrasems, but now...

I am one dead duck.

It is exactly 21 days until I get back home... in 3 weeks at this time, I'll be on my plane 3 hours away from Singapore. Until then, it probably is going to be the toughest 3 weeks of my life -_- academics wise. I hardly have the time to write here anymore but now it's 1.07am, I'm KINDA threequarters way through preparing for tomorrow's stifle joint (that's the knee to you!) dissection, and am suddenly feeling awake enough to write about what has to be one of the most amazing, most awesome, and downright coolest experience ever.

I miss home. As much as I like it here, I wish I could go back for the weekend and well, not do the dishes or laundry, or the cooking for that matter, drive over to Kallang Airport to pick up satay beehoon or oyster omelette... or to Kallang Leisure Park for a subway sandwich and grocery shopping at cold storage, or Parkway for koi, and I even miss ( Read more... )

My friends and I just spent a completely schoolwork-free night devouring an entire roast chicken from Franklin's in The Well while watching snippets of Titanic playing on the telly, washing our labcoats at the laundromat, fooling around with the surgical gloves from PBRS (okay we did not actually TOUCH the cadavars with them. My first month here has passed and it has simply FLOWN past. I suppose it's on account of the endless things I have to do everyday, and everything around me just feels like it's been here for ages. 1) Set my alarm for 6.45 - my friends are always appalled at how early I wake up, but they dont understand the importance of me leaving the house with washed and dried hair.
