It happened.  I'm officially unemployed.  Shortly after returning to lunch, a manager pulled me into the HR department and I was notified that "my services are no longer required after today."  Or something along those lines..I knew what the outcome was going to be so it didn't really matter how they phrase it.  In a way, I was looking forward to ( Read more... )

I was always the person who picked up and moved wherever. I spent some time in DC and some time in California, went to Ann Arbor, MI and then dropped everything and moved to Ontario. I'm pretty good now. I always push for the journey though. Getting back where you have a support network is never quite as expensive and you think it's going to be, so if it all falls apart, you can usually get back if necessary.

It's an interesting way of looking at it. Right now, I have some options that I haven't really considered before. A similar job that I held (this one is hardware testing - I was doing software testing) opened up in a nearby town so I'm definitely going to go for it. Or at the very least see what it's about. There are some other things that I'm considering but with moving to Texas..I'd rather visit it first and see if I can handle the weather change..
