i love a lot of these books. i had the good fortune of being an english major, i think-i was forced to read the classics, and i actually kind of prefer them to contemporary lit. lolita's the fave. house of mirth and to the lighthouse are good too, though i do prefer mrs. dalloway like other lauren suggested. btw, have you ever read "the hours?" they made a good movie out of it, but the book is soooo great. virginia wolf is a character in the book, in the midst of writing mrs. dalloway.
i would suggest a short story collection of graham greene's enitled "may we borrow your husband." good summer read. the title story reminds me a LOT of how jeff and i fell for each other (it also reminds me of the movie "lost in translation").
i don't read anything "good" these days. seriously, all i read are books about child development/nutrition/education, etc etc etc. right now i'm reading maria montessori's "the absorbent mind" for the second time. LAME. i don't really have time, though. when oslo nap nurses i'm napping right along with him!
Haha, I read all this ya fiction stuff. I do have Lolita on my list to read though! I never have and picked it up at a garage sale, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.
