Ryan was in Boston last weekend for like 26 hours and was kind enough to rush over to Lush for me/us since we don't have one here in Austin. They were still amidst their Christmas sale, so he came home with loads of...well, crap

Yes. Really overpriced bath products without packaging. It's "green" of them but makes storing and using them a HUGE PITA. To learn that there are gross chemicals in them makes me feel like I have the RAGE.
Do they advertise themselves as natural? That's pretty screwy!
I don't buy Lush because I can't stand to be in their store for more than 2 seconds, and I definitely do not consider myself particularly chemically or fragrance sensitive.
They say they are handmade and fresh, and that their ingredients are organic. They are also big on minimal packaging and vegan options/no animal testing.
That's what I get for ASSuming, I suppose. gaaaaaah
that is so sucky. i didn't know that about lush products! i am not picky about ingredients but they definitely have a 'natural' reputation, what a disappointment to find out the truth. (after looking at their website: sounds like they are more into the 'handmade' label and no packaging...you'd think cutting artificial crap would be part of that ethos, too.) are you going to sell it online or something?
I think Ryan will continue to use it, since he's not sensitive to soap or particularly worried like I am. Who knows, maybe he won't want it either and we'll sell it!
There isn't a definitive study, it's just a "mmmmaybe" which I am inclined to take as "hell no." It's supposedly mildly estrogenic, but it can build up in tissue. The jury is out, and so am I. LOL!
i feel like they used to be better before they opened 1,000 stores. anyways, i don't use them anymore either. i have been getting shampoo bars from this place that are nice :)
I was wondering about that, if their quality had to change when they upped production so significantly! Thanks for that link, I am OBSESSED with shampoo in bar form. I love the Godiva from Lush, it will be hard to replace!
