and his disease/health approach is another angle for people who aren't drawn philosophically by animal rights to veganism (like me). i need to write him a letter about all the patients i've been able to help by handing them his book.
i also have this great brochure i wrote for a pediatrics class about the nutritional requirements for vegan kids, different nutrients and how to meet those needs, etc. i just need to re-export it with my NEW TITLE and practice info on it.
I'm late to the game, but I have to say that soy does make me nervous. Back when I was charting I was eating some soy every day, and I could tell it was throwing stuff out of whack. Went away when I quit eating it. I guess moderation and all that... but it does make me nervous!
Yeah, I hear ya... I think I'm at the very very start of a slllooooooowww transition away from toxins and all that crap. And I know dairy/meat are at the top of the list. Ugh. BEING ADULT AND KNOWING SHIT AND ACTING ETHICALLY IS SO HARD.
Nice to read a post on raising vegan kids that isn't hyper-defensive or hyper-combative. I haven't read up on the worries about soy products. I'm Chinese with grandparents who lived into their 90s despite eating plenty of tofu so it just hadn't sounded all that plausible to me.
