Woohoo! Level 49 at Free Rice! There are 50 levels in all, but it is rare for people to get above level 48. Rare, but not impossible. Not for a past spelling bee champion of Polrtand. I mean, Portland.

Just finished Season 3 of The Wire, and while it made me homesick and wistful, that's not what I want to talk about right this minute. No. I'm pissed.

Today's Oregonian carried a front-page, above-the-fold story on the fact that the high price of hops and barley is expected to make microbrews more expensive.

I know I haven’t been taking pictures of Portland, and I’m going to try to work on that. But the truth is, I don’t know how useful a camera would be, anyway.
