When? today to when Lucas comes back
Who? Lucas, Ionia, Mask, and Weavile

Earlier that morning, Mr. Mask had finished baking another batch of his magical cookies. He had begun to turn to unconventional means of baking ,due to the microwave popularity. This time he had baked them in his EZ-Bake-Oven. In his mind, they ( Read more... )

Lucas and Ionia made for a fairly strange sight. Ionia had insisted on holding hands, so the two almost gave off the image of a young couple out for a walk... except that Ionia kept calling Lucas "Mommy," of course. The girl was fairly bouncing with excitement at the prospect of meeting Mommy's friend and getting to try cookies and nectar drinks and play with Mommy's friend's little one. This was going to be a very fun day!

"Oh... there he is, Ionia. Hi, Mr. Mask!" Lucas called out, waving to the counselor. "Ionia, say hi to... uh..." He turned to speak to Ionia, but the girl had ducked behind him, suddenly overcome with shyness now that she was actually going to meet Mommy's friend.

Mask stood up and stuffed his cross word puzzle in his pocket.

"Good day, Lucas!" he waved in return. He then noticed the little blue headed girl had hid. Oh dear.

"Um... Good day to you too, Ionia!" he offered with his usual smile.

Walking over to the small group, Weavile mentally frowned for being the last one to show up. Oh well, it wasn't that big of a deal. Lightly swinging in his hand as he walked, the pokemon counselor carried a small bag. He had thought about what to bring, both for his own amusement and Ionia's, and decided to pack a few books. Not quite sure what sort of books the young girl would like, he decided on a few fairy tales and some science fiction. Considering one of her 'parents' was that inventor boy Jeff, he figured she would enjoy the latter more.

"Hello there Lucas, Mask," he nodded at each. Then he glanced at Ionia, now hidden behind the blonde. "And hello to you, Ionia," Weavile gently smiled. Although he wouldn't admit it out loud, she was awfully cute, clinging to Lucas like that.

Ionia rose onto her tiptoes and tried her best to peek over Lucas' shoulder at Mask, but alas. She was far too short; all that was visible was the top of her ponytail and that single leaf sticking out of her head. When Weavile showed up as well, it was clear hiding wasn't going to work. The only option was to step out into the open -- though she still stayed close to Lucas -- and mumble a bashful hello to both counselors.

"Haha.. hello, Mr. Weavile. Ionia's not normally this bashful, but don't worry... I'm sure she'll warm up to you guys quick enough." Lucas patted the girl's head fondly, mindful of the leaf. Maybe it was because Mask and Weavile were adults? Ionia wasn't shy around Mr. Olimar or Mr. Falcon, but she saw those two as family... considering how thrilled she'd been about the whole babysitting thing, however, Lucas couldn't see Ionia staying timid for very long.

Whoa... that was weird! Ionia's tummy felt all funny and it was kind of like on the bus trip when they had gone over that bridge, except different! Ionia... wasn't sure where they were now, but she couldn't see Mommy anywhere.

This place was very busy! There were people everywhere! It was a good thing Ionia didn't let go of Weavile's hand; she was so preoccupied with trying to take in all the scenery that she probably would have wound up lost in a heartbeat.

Once the three had successfully gotten themselves out of the crowd and right up on Mask's doorstep, he spread his arms wide and grinned.

"Here we are! My humble abode!" he then went to unlock the door and welcome the two of them in. He turned to Ionia.

"Ionia, would you like a few cookies when we get inside?" he offered. He wanted to make the little girl as happy as possible.

Weavile felt his arm tugged as Ionia snapped her head back and forth, taking in their new environment. Good thing he had thought to hold her hand. What sort of babysitters would they be if they lost her within the first ten minutes?

However, he released her hand when they approached Mask's home. At the offer of cookies, Weavile smirked, "You better have enough to share." He just hoped that Mask wouldn't try to fill her up on sugar. Who knew how much it would take to get her all hyped up.

Cookies...!

"Yes please! Ionia would like that very much!" Ionia nodded, a smile breaking out on her face. She knew Mommy loved Mr. Mask's cookies, and she'd definitely looked forward to trying them for herself. Eating normal food was something that was still new and exciting for her; Pikmin didn't exactly spend much time eating cookies, that was for sure.

If Ionia thought it was at all unusual that Mask's daughter was apparently some sort of amphibian-fish-creature, she showed no sign of it. Then again, what else could you expect from a swimming plant critter that was being raised by a psychic and a genius? Ionia was no stranger to unusual families.

She gave a delighted gasp and pressed her fingers to the glass (yay fingerprints), eyes wide with wonder as she watched the little Zora. "Hello, Miruto...! You are very cute!" She was the roundest thing Ionia had ever seen! Absolutely adorable! Ionia glanced over to Mask, positively beaming at him. "Ionia likes to swim, too! Can Miruto talk?"

Mask chuckled, "I'm afraid not, dear. But she does sing and hum. That's how she communicates with us! She she's only a baby. Would you like to pet her? She doesn't mind!" Mask offered as he himself dropped his hand into the water and stroked the little Zora a few times. Miruto chirped in happiness at the attention.

Weavile couldn't help but smirk as Ionia leaned against the glass tank. It was really very... cute. If Weavile could remember correctly, he had overheard that the girl was actually a small creature that liked to swim. Oh what were they called again? ... Oh yes, Pikmin! So it made sense that she would like to befriend a fish creature.

He raised an eyebrow as Mask pet Miruto. The Zoran baby's large black eyes shined, tempting Weavile to dip his hand in the water as well. With a quick shake of his head, he figured it would be better not to. "Quite the father figure, hm?"

Mask just smiled softly at Weavile, "I have o be!" he explained.

"Got a little one!" he chuckled, "Come on, Uncle Weavile, why don't you give little Mir a pet? She likes you, you know!"

Ionia nodded. "Mommy and Daddy are both boys. It would be very confusing if Ionia only had Daddy and Daddy!" Exactly why Lucas was Mommy and Jeff was Daddy was above her head -- as far as she could tell, it was because Jeff was a mechanic. So... Uncle Weavile was uncle because he could do magic tricks? Maybe this boy-vs-girl stuff only had to do with how talented you were.

She brushed those thoughts aside and helped herself to another cookie. "Yay, swimming! Ionia loves swimming the most, Auntie Mask! Can Miruto come too?"

Mask smiled, and shuddered at the 'Auntie', "Well, of course Miruto will come! I can't very well leave her here alone, can I? What kind of father would I be!" he chuckled.

"I just need to get her all set for travel!" he commented before going to a small desk and pulling out a small bottle. He dipped the bottle into the tank and Miruto swam right into it, knowing what was coming.

Once she was securely in, Mask stood , "Shall I go pack a basket of cookies and what not? No beach trip is complete without it!"

Weavile had to contain his snickers each time the girl called Mask 'Auntie.' He knew it irked Mask, but what was a little fun between friends, hm? He'd get over it. Call me Snaps indeed... the pokemon counselor mentally chuckled.

"Swimming, hm? That does sound like a good idea. I could make some more ice sculptures, if you'd like..." he offered, knowing both of his new 'nieces' enjoyed that.

"A beach trip, hm? Perhaps we should pack a picnic too. Don't you think so, Auntie Mask?"

Mask gave Weavile a slight glare. "Yes, a picnic, of course," he stated in his usualy cheerful voice.

"Here, Uncle Weavile," he held out the bottle in which Miruot was, "Would you hold your youngest neice for me while I go pack the basket?" he requested, almost spitefully.

"Ionia, dear, is there anything special you'd like to eat?" he asked on his way to the kitchen.

"Ionia liked your pretty ice statues very much too, Uncle Weavile! Can you show Ionia how to do them too?"

Ionia liked to help! She was at her happiest when her hands were busy. Even so... she couldn't help but be curious about the blue stuff that Mask had put into a bottle. "Auntie Mask... what is that? Is it for Miruto?" She guessed that much because the bottle was smaller than regular cups, and Miruto was the smallest of all them because she was still a baby.

Mask found Ionia to be quite clever.

"Why, yes this is!" he began to explain, "This is a special baby formula for Miruto. You see, she is a Zora and cannot drink milk like most babies, so she has this special drink for her food," he finished.

he then chuckled and turned to Weavile, "And yes, so show us all your little ice trick, UNCLE Weavile."

Gently placing Miruto's bottle on the table, Weavile collected the rest of the cookies and put them in a bag. Handing it over to Mask, he ruefully smirked, "Of course, Auntie Mask. Anything for my adorable nieces."

Turning to Ionia, he asked, "You said you liked stories, right? I brought a few books I thought you might like. Perhaps Auntie Mask will read them to you? He's awfully good a story telling."

Mask rued Weavile. Auntie..... he shuddered a bit.

"Yes, maybe at the beach I will tell a few tales..." he mumbled while finishing up the picnic basket packing. He grabbed Miruto's bottle and cuddled it snuggly in his arm.

"Alright! Shall we be off?"

((OK, now let's say they caught some sort of carriage and are at Great Bay, coolio? Now, let's begin this beach thing! I'll start a new tag for it.))
