static type checking

i've said this before when i've worked with python and other scripting languages because it drives me crazy: I love static type checking.

lately i've been coding in scheme, and the dynamic type checking has been driving me batty. i guess i have to admit that i'm a somewhat sloppy coder -- but i'd say that my types of errors are the simple type
