I spent £110 at the hairdressers this week and even I can not tell the difference.

Seven of the old boys resident where I work told me they loved me tonight. Seven different ways to say it, from simpering to Kill KILL KILL.

Even though it's said with a haze of booze, and often with dribble, there's something quite disarming about being told that, and I have to scramble to find an appropriate response.

But, bless 'em.

About three months ago, in a puff of electrical smoke, my cooker up and died. I have just had the dodgy powerpoint in my kitchen sorted, so now I can plug the washing machine in without running a lead all the way across the room. I have a guy coming on Friday to rehang a radiator which is hanging precariously by its plumbing. Also on Friday there's a guy coming to fix my dead oven.
