Um.

I probably should have noticed this sooner but where the heck did all the animals go from this place, anyway? Not that Manhattan's ever been a place full of wildlife, but you'd think there'd be birds or dogs or cats running around or flying in the case of birds or something.

Actually, bug-eating monsters aren't all that unheard of. Take the zombies from the 1968 thriller, 'Night of the Living Dead', for example. Mind you, they're no Godzilla, but my point still stands.
