You mention a door and talking about Hakuryuu, is this possibly in a room off to the side of where you trigger the chandelier to fall? If that's where you're at, then picking the first option while you're talking to Hakuryuu is what you need to do. (She's talking about a statue that she says looks like him, but then Saku will come up and say it looks more like Kokuryuu and after more dialogue the door should open.)
If you're actually further than this, let me know and I can try to pinpoint where you're at! ^^
If you're past that and the clock tower and are stuck downstairs in the library, then what you need to do is, after triggering the "!" event with Hakuryuu (should show up on the map) you go to each of the 4 square shelves in the corners (I might be explaining this badly, but check the map and it should make sense).
My saved game won't let me double check this because it's already been done and it wants me to go straight through, and I can't remember if there are choices in the dialogue. You're going with each god-pair to the shelves, reading about their previous incarnations, and then taking a colored book off the shelf. Once you have all four, return to the spot where you were talking to Hakuryuu and you should be able to get through. There's a fight and then you're out, I believe.
Thanks! Unfortunately, none of that has happened yet -- and there's no talking at this point, just running around killing and opening things. I think I found my answer buried in the game booklet, where it shows needing level 1 of one skill and 2 in two others to open locked chests, open doors marked with X and doors blocked by globes. I hope I can a) figure out /whose/ skills these are and b) be able to use one of my save points to go back and give that person the skills.
Do the onryou come back if you save and turn off the PS2 and then load again? D:
I poked around in a walkthrough and saw a note about Chapter 3: In that room with the statue (apparently labeled the 「礼拝堂」) where Nozomi says something about Hakuryuu (「この像って白龍と誰かに似てる?」), does Saku respond to her? You may need to raise your kizuna with her to proceed (像より先に進むには朔との絆★2つが必要になります -- "To pass the statue part you need two kizuna-stars with Saku).
It's past the statue part where Hinoe and Masaomi learn 「宝箱鍵開け」 ("Unlocking Treasure Chests"). Only one of them needs to get a skill point in it and you'll be able to unlock the lesser of the two types of locked chests.
Let us know if you still can't get through! We'll figure it out! :)
