hey friends from the 1990s,
tonight i saw the new band of molly neuman and carlos of the peechees in a sweaty basement with teenagers. carlos now has long, soundgarden hair rather than that rockabilly coif. it's bizzare.

now i'm drunk and updating registration info for sf zinefest.

i thought it was annoying when my downstairs neighbor revealed herself as a musician in the form of singing and playing keyboard unabashedly. she sounds like paula cole as a contestant on "american idol." luckily, she generally keeps this singing and keyboard-playing to the afternoons. if she starts up, i take it as a cue for me to go on a walk, ( Read more... )

so. last year family style headed up to portland for the zine symposium, and we were totally inspired. we returned home and tabled the san francisco zine fest and were totally bummed on the lack of awesome (if you go to the site, i am in the front row watching the movie with white shoes, just so you know. don't i look bored?). i feel like the wind's been knocked out of my sails. don't hate me because i'm going through a freaking interpol revival. i'm playing records at jacks on saturday, but i'll be leaving "turn on the bright lights" at home, so it's safe. i'm going to need some company.
