The novel

I don't know if there's been a post about this (I just didn't want this group to die, and I'm not done with a fanfic I'm writing), but the second novel, The Abducted Alchemist, is one giant Papa!Roy fandom fanfic. Seriously. Beyond just the first scene that's obvious. The author is so a Papa!Roy fan. And Ed ALMOST admits that he thinks of Roy as a ( Read more... )

I haven't read the novels, but this does sound interesting.

Almost admits that he thinks of Roy as a father figure? To me the part that goes:
'For those few moments, when he ran up to talk to Roy, Edward did have a father in the military, and he was surprised to find he wasn't exactly sure how he felt about that.'

says to me that he kinda does.

And I agree with you, in english it wasn't very well written. Thats why, even with all my papa!Roy love, I liked the third novel better than the second.
My thoughts on the third novel: See Ed run. Run, Ed run. Really I would have died if I had to run as much as Ed did in the third novel. XD

Yeah that's the only one I DON'T have and it's the only one I WANT. Is there means to acquire it via internet that does not involve money...as in...can I download it somewhere? My bookstores hate me for the second novel. T__T

I don't think its up for download, but it's not like I ever tried to check.

Just wanted to add, Al is more awsome in this book than anime!Al ever was just because of this one part in the book.

"We could call out to [Edward and Ancy], to see if they're in there," Roy suggested, "Though I doubt we could be heard over this racket ( ... )

Yes, I love that scene! And there are a bunch that made me go "aww". I read it for a class (we got to pick any book we wanted to read. I chose this one) and I get to discuss it tomorrow. And I will prevent myself from mentioning at all papa!Roy, though that was one of the few good aspects of the novel.
