I stumbled upon your post, and I am in complete agreement about the West Memphis 3. Complete injustice. If I think about it for too long it makes me really really upset. Thank you for putting this out there.
That case.. just, it really pulls on my heartstrings. I've made it like.. my duty to educate people on it ^^; My main project in my Droite12F class (basically Law class in French) was about this case, and I used to just talk about it all the time.
Injustice is exactly what it is. I keep waiting for them to finally be set free but it never seems to be working out. I had so much hope this past year or so with the new evidence and hearings and such and it just broke my heart when it didn't seem to go anywheres. *sigh* :( Devil's Know?
I just watched PARADISE LOST 1 with my parents last night (I had rented it before but turned it off because I got too angry), and it was so hard to keep from storming out of the room. When they were asking Damien what the origin of his name was, my Mom said sarcastically 'Oh no, it must have been because of THE OMEN!'... And then when that was brought up as a possibility, her jaw dropped.
I wish that the courts would just admit they made a mistake and give them new trials. How can you be convicted of capital murder based on music, book, and fashion tastes? According to that logic I MUST be a serial killer...
I haven't seen all of that, yet. Most of it, but not quite all of it. The clips from the trial, the part where they have the guy talking about Jesse's confession and how coerced it seems? I showed it to my class because, honestly, that little bit alone is enough to make anyone with some brains stop and go "wait, what?"
I know, right? It drives me so insane. Of course they were rejected for the re-trail, it was given to the SAME DAMN JUDGE if I'm not mistaken. Of course he won't wanna admit he was wrong. This case always gets me so fired up, haha. ^^; Just..fjedsb xf fffff. I wish people would take a step back, REALLY REALLY REALLY LOOK AT EVERYTHING, and realize, "well, shit. we really fuct up bad, didn't we? let's DO SOMETHING TO FIX IT
