[When the video starts, Mai blinks a couple times to focus her attention, her expression is sullen, dark circles are under her eyes, her hair down and a mess that she obviously didn't want to deal with fixing up. Someone hasn't been getting any sleep lately, and her voice sounds low and annoyed.]

[There is little good sense in her thinking right now. Partly because of her restlessness but also because there is a part of her that actually wants to hear his voice. Survival wins in the end though, and she makes the choice not to divide her attention any longer.]

You can give me a lecture later.

[With that she ends the call.]

[pyromatics]

[Zuko stares down at his communicator, taken aback by the abrupt cut off.]

... Not so fast.

[Beep beep beep beep-- He's going to just mutter and grumble and growl to himself the entire time he dials out her number, and then he begins to pace, waiting for her to pick up again.]

[hatersbehatin]

[It rings out without an answer. She's busy not dying right now. Call back later.]

[pyromatics]

[More frustrated growling and muttering. Zuko cuts the call, waits a moment, and redials as he stomps his way up the stairs to his room to find his swords and change his clothing.]

[hatersbehatin]

[Yep. Still no answer. And there wouldn't be one until after he finished changing and was on his way out of the house with his swords.]

[pyromatics]

[He's changing into different clothing, something similar to what he wore that night Mai was cursed. He's picked up his swords, strapped them to his back and making his way back downstairs by the time he's redialing the number to her communicator.]

Pick up... Pick up...

[This was NOT what Suki wanted to do, but she answered the communicator anyway.]

Zuko?

[pyromatics]

[Zuko freezes just before he steps outside. What? Did he dial to the wrong communicator?]

... Suki? Uh- sorry, I must have dialed the wrong thing.

No, you dialed right. Mai is just... busy.

[pyromatics]

[Sighs.]

Busy. Right. [Hesitates.} Do you two need any help?

[tessenwarrior]

[Suki could be heard yelling at Mai, asking why she wouldn't talk to him. But then she turns back to Zuko.]

I think we're fine. If we need you, I'll call.

[pyromatics]

[Frowning, not pleased with having to sit around and wait.]

I should go to you guys. The harpies are dangerous.

Can you still fight?

[Suki wasn't talking to Zuko anymore, but her conversation with Mai can be heard.]

If you can't, then I'm telling Zuko to come.

Hey-- what's going on? Is she alright?

Just tell him you're alright. I'll clear a path.

[The communicator was flung into the air, so Mai could catch it, because Suki wasn't talking to him anymore.]
