[When the video starts, Mai blinks a couple times to focus her attention, her expression is sullen, dark circles are under her eyes, her hair down and a mess that she obviously didn't want to deal with fixing up. Someone hasn't been getting any sleep lately, and her voice sounds low and annoyed.]

[There's a whoosh as the communicator sails through the air, then a few thuds as it almost slips from Mai's grip, then a moment later, her voice crackles through the bad reception. She sounds a little more breathless than the last time he heard her.]

I'm okay. She's okay. We're doing just fine over here. So you don't have to charge in here like a man to save us.
