I'm getting closer to buying a laptop so that I can finally get the internet at home, or mobile even, but the problem is I'm not that tech savvy and the more I look the more confused I get!

At the moment the two top contenders are an hp, which is on sale at Harvey Norman, and a mac. I'm fairly sure with either of them I'm paying for a whole heap of

I've had a series of HP laptops and been quite happy with them. IMO, the decision's totally a religious one: if you're not in the Church of Mac, the HP's the way to go.

Though, why so dinky? The 15.4 I don't think costs or weighs much more, and gives a lot better working and viewing experience -

Despite my aversion to religious fervour I am seriously considering joining the Church of Mac.

You've got a good point about the dinky, the salesman said the same thing to me. He also said men go for bigger, chunkier laptops and women go for compact. Go figure.
