Miles is his usual chatty self while they wait; this continues in hushed tones when they enter the cinema proper. Seats taken, lights down, he wriggles out of his coat and lets it bunch up between his back and the chair.

The words appear, and as they do, an astonished look passes over his face. He elbows his friend in the next seat over, looks at him in disbelief, and is about to say something, when the iris opens on screen, and the music boldly punches a hole through the silence.

The boy is captivated.
He sits very still, nearly holding his breath. By the end of it, the film's light is reflected very brightly in his eyes. When he finally thinks he's steady enough to look at his friend, Miles is wearing a timid, but entirely genuine smile.

He has no idea how you knew to do that, man, but... wow. Way to go.
