it's so dark outside so early!  I woke up this morning for work at 6:30 after snoozing several times and my head was swimming with excuses.  Alas, no sick days, no personal days, no excuses.  Do you remember being in high school and thinking that at least the summer would come and you could sleep in? ! IIt sucks being a grown up and knowing that ( Read more... )

I think you'd be an incredible mom. Cadence?

Cadence I like more as a middle name. I like it for the nickname Caddy which is the name of the sister from The Sound and the Fury (not a great character namesake, but one of my favorite novels).

A year after reading The Sound and the Fury I came across the term "cadere" in my Latin class which means both "to fall" and "to sing." Cadence (of course) refers to rhythm and keeping time and it makes me think of pedaling my bike with one foot always falling and one always rising, revolving around a center in perpetuity. It's a hippy name but I like it. =)

Wouldn't it be ironic if you were the one who wound up with the big family and I grew up old and childless?

ironic is one word. Unlikely, another.

You are going to have a brood of awesome kids; poets, philosophers, revolutionaries.

William wants to know how maybe (if we do decide to have a child one day) we can guarantee that its a boy. I think that he wants someone to dress up as a super hero and take to movies with him. =)

also, no kids without a family member living here who wants to help raise him/her. Two salaries is barely enough - I can't imagine paying for childcare. The entire prospect is pretty unlikely.

Aww...I like Cadence and Milo (Because of The Phantom of the Tollbooth.)

Election day was perfect here but so insanely quiet I was worried.
Just now realizing that even though I am in soulless town, it is still Illinois! So I could have rested easy.

I have NEVER been a morning person, and yet I have always worked early shifts and love being up and out with the other morning folk.
