Election Night Update
With this election, we have chosen to represent our nation in a great way, regardless of whom we chose to vote for. We have proven that we are not for the most part the ignorant bigots that I have some times been afraid we were. A Weekend on the Dude Ranch.
AHHH. So the Viennese have dude ranches too, they just call them Bauernhofs and escape to them for relaxing weekends away from the city where they can relax by cooking their own meals, heaving hay or schlepping shit.

Tonight 10 of my school group went to dinner at a Berlin couple's apartment. The woman is Anne. They fed us potato soup, prosecco and bread and played a history and art trivia game in German. It was one of the nicest nights here in Berlin, nice to be at someone's home. I am excited to go to Vienna, but hope that our group wont separate too much. We ( Read more... ) -

I can't yet upload pictures, so this entry will be photo-free. I have been in Berlin now for 7 days. I came in last Sunday morning and moved into a 10-bed room in Pegasus Hostel. Flathead Lake Lodge only lasted about 6 weeks. It was interesting while I was there, but then came the point where it was no longer worth the stress not to be in Missoula. Last night at 3:30 AM the fire alarms in our house went off for about 5 minutes. This was not a problem, as I was still awake, imagining becoming a member of the Long Riders Guild. I recently got a job for the summer at Flathead Lake Lodge. I am more than excited about the possibility of working around horses. Plus, this will be like the summer camp that I always wanted to go to...albeit a little more work. BUT! Still! I am going to be compensated for my time. We watched Crash, the movie that won Best Picture at the Academy Awards last night and it started out promisiing, but the point where the man tied the invisible, impenetrable cape around his daughter's shoulders was a where Crash started to lose me.
