As I'm fond of saying, I have no problem with alternatives to the theory of evolution. After all, challenging established theories is essential to science~ even if the challenges are doomed to fail. When I first heard the phrase "Intelligent Design" I kind of liked the idea of some sort of cosmic conciousness drawing up a master blueprint for the universe.

Fortunately I soon figured out that those who challenge the theory of evolution are almost invariably opposed to gay marriage, sex education, birth control, and abortion.
