Sure, why not. I got some bad news today and rambling about RP stuff is always a decent distraction, so here I am with the "comment here and I will tell you what my character thinks of your character" meme.
Although it might take me a while to get back to you. Work and sleep and moving and stuff.
ooc,

Shay knows there's more to Nick than meets the eye. He strikes her as being a) very good at what he does, and b) the kind of guy who would be a good drinking buddy, both of which are good things in her book. She thinks he'd be a useful ally.
She doesn't completely trust him, but then, she doesn't completely trust 99.9999999% of the population of Earth (and various other planets), so he shouldn't take that personally. She suspects he's a lot more calculating than he lets on. After all, he DOES head a major organization and all.
She likes what little she's SEEN of Nick so far, but is a little hesitant to go deeper since she's not sure she'll like what's below the surface. Again, she also tends to be seriously paranoid, especially with influential military-types, so there you go.

She has certainly never actually spent time wondering whether or not it would be possible to actually vaccuum Sand up with a vaccuum cleaner. Nope. No sir. Not at all. She has MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO THINK ABOUT. Like, um... shooting stuff. And dinosaurs!

What really strikes her, though, is that he seems to really care about people. His advice is sincere and thoughtful and sometimes funny. She's impressed by what she sees as quiet strength on his part.
He's on her list of People She Likes and Would Get To Know Better If She Was A Social Person At All. She doesn't really have a lot of friends; if she was the type to have a lot of friends, she would be more active about persuing a friendship with Derek. As it is, these things take a while to progress with her. (Again, she doesn't trust 99.9999999etc% of people. She has Issues with that sort of thing. But she's working on them, especially now that Katar's back.)

Shayera WOULD like Nightwing. So far, she pretty much likes the Bat-clan. She thinks Batman is sullen, but, um... he's Batman. He also strikes her as being a hardass, and she respects that. But that's Batman, not Nightwing.
I'm not sure if she would sympathize with him being raised by Batman or not. She's very fond of Jason (maybe she and Nightwing could bond over that, initially), and senses a lot of bitterness there, but Jason is bitter about a LOT of things and Dick is ultimately pretty well-adjusted. I could see her maybe asking him for relationship advice, if she'd had a beer or five, since they both wound up with their old crime-fighting partners and his marriage is clearly the result of some sort of relationship magic. (I mean, she and Katar love each other, but after five years, there's gonna be some baggage. I just... um... don't have the time to RP it right now. But yeah.)
Um. Also, she would think his bike is cool. She likes motorcycles. What is it with DC chicks and motorcycles?

She's a bit shy around him. She knows he's making all kinds of efforts to be helpful and friendly, and they all seem really sincere and thoughtful. It's definitely a first for her - OMG FRIENDLY DEITIES WHAT. But she likes it. She likes the way Norman and Hermes treat each other. Maybe it's something to do with his affinity for hawks, but Happy!Hermes makes her smile.
Inwardly.
Did I mention she has trust issues up the wazoo? Well, she does. And wazoo is fun to say. But mostly it's the trust issues that keep her from getting too close to Hermes. He IS a hellenic deity noted for moodiness and whimsy. But he's also been patient and kind with her, and if he keeps it up he'll get past those walls eventually. She's actually making an effort herself, but she has no social skills, so it might not show much. When I am less buried in life stuff she and Katar are done the very private reconnecting that they're doing now, she'll have him over for coffee ( ... )

Hermes, for reasons known only to him, really does like Shay. It's likely a combo of the hawk-thing, her honesty, and the BIG REASON - her attitude reminds him of home. He was never a warrior himself, but he went along and supported quite a few of the heros. He's missed doing that.
The long and the short is that he'll be patient and send fruit baskets, horrible plastic toys and occasionally try and drag Shay out for pakoras or samosas.
"You need some cheap, dubious indian food. This is a Fact. No, really. I swear! I'll even bring tamarind sauce." *hopeful, puppy, dork-grin!*
