Sure, why not. I got some bad news today and rambling about RP stuff is always a decent distraction, so here I am with the "comment here and I will tell you what my character thinks of your character" meme.
Although it might take me a while to get back to you. Work and sleep and moving and stuff.
ooc,

Hokay. For starters. Shayera really does care about Ted. A lot. She might even have really loved him, given time. Essentially, he's everything that Katar was not the last year before he died - light-hearted, open, well-adjusted, and sane. He was good for her. The whole relationship actually grew out of some random IC AIM interactions, in which Ted sort of got Shay to open up about what it was like losing someone particularly close to her, and confessed his own secret desire to be part of some epic love affair. We figured it would be a good way to get Shay to lighten up and maybe get back to what she was like in Hawkworld (kind of a smartass who hides her self-doubt with sarcasm rather than dwelling on it like she's been doing since Katar died), and improve Ted's self-esteem by making him feel not so useless ( ... )

Shay likes John. He's honest and every bit as stubborn as her. When they disagree, they tend to clash, but hard-headedness aside, Shayera values his opinion, and will take it into account - whether or not she lets him know that.
She also secretly thinks he's hot. But you would have to get her REALLY drunk to get her to admit that.
Remember that 0.0000001% that she actually trusts? Yeah, he's part of that. He's never been anything but upfront with her, and she wouldn't give him anything else but the same back.

Shay and Katar have a great relationship. They have the kind of love just about everyone wishes they had - unconditional acceptance, understanding, and respect. They're confidantes and friends as well as lovers, probably because that's what they were for a really long time before they were lovers. They're both individual, fully-developed characters in their own rights, and they're both independant people by nature ( ... )

But she also realizes that he lives with the knowledge that his life is probably not going to be very long, or very content. She doesn't know a lot about his past, but she gets the impression that it's unpleasant. If the occasional bout of irresponsibility is how he deals, well, she can live with that. Especially since he's never actually hurt anyone with his shenanigans (hee. Shenanigans.) and when the time comes, he knows to sober up.
If Nate were ever to abuse his powers to hurt people, Shayera would be quick to smack him upside the head. With a mace. But she would do it because she cares. Really.
