Room 330 - Wednesday Afternoon

Jan 09, 2013 16:43

Did people here know there was a portal from the school to Rio de Janeiro?  Because apparently there is.  And this morning, that portal had apparently decided to reverse itself to spit an annoyed and doused-in-rum Kate Bishop back onto Fandom ( Read more... )

After a morning of practicing at the range, followed by one class that had been interesting and one class that had been deeply horrifying, it occured to Alec to check on the Fandom-assigned little sibling he still hadn't met. He was almost expecting Room 330 to not exist as if no one had ever been assigned to live there, so he was almost a bit surprised when he saw an actual girl in there, unpacking her things.

"Katherine Bishop?" he guessed hopefully.

"Kate," she replied, glancing up at the guy. "You're - roommate or school-appointed welcoming committee?"

"The latter," Alec said, stepping a little further into the room to hold out his hand. "Alec Lightwood. Apparently I'm your 'big sibling.'"

The air quotes were audible, though not actually demonstrated.

"Oh good, I always wanted another one of those," Kate said dryly before flashing him a practiced smile as she shook his hand. "How did you get roped into that? Too many demerits?"

Evan had been out for most of the morning, running laps around the island, doing that cardio thing that his uncle had always made a point to include in his training. So, it really wasn't much of a shock that he'd missed his roomie's arrival, what with needing to clean up a little, and all. He was fully intending to curl up with a book and just relax for the rest of the day. After all, he didn't have class until tomorrow, so he could take it easy!

He hadn't entirely been expecting the door to be open when he got back, but it wasn't completely surprising, either. He peered in, giving a light knock on the doorframe before stepping into the room.

"Um... hi! I don't suppose you'd be my new roommate?"

"If I'm your new roommate, then why did you knock?" Kate asked, smiling a little.

"Well... I didn't want to just barge in," Evan replied, smiling a little right back, even while he gave his toe a sheepish scuff against the floor. "You might've been doing something...?"

With the door open! Very private open-door things!

"Um... Hi. I'm Evan. Your roommate, I guess."

"Nothing that you had to knock for," she reassured him. "I have a strict closed door policy about that." Roommates. A guy roommate. Why was she going to boarding school again? She'd never had a roommate for anything longer than summer camp.

This was so your own fault, Bishop.

"I'm Kate." Kate offered her hand because what else did you do when meeting a new roommate? "I've so never had a roommate before."

Apparently the other thing you did was tell them about your roommate-virginity.

Billy had seen Kate in class today, but he hadn't said anything to her, because what if she wasn't the same Kate and didn't know him or didn't want to be rabidly hugged by him in front of all their other classmates? So, he waited until classes were over and found her room, nervously knocking on the door.

There would never be a Kate that knew Billy that wouldn't want to be rabidly hugged by him.

Which was why there was a Kate moving to hug a Billy before there were any other words.

There might not have been words, but there was a possibly embarrassing squealing noise. "Hi! You're here!" Yes Billy, because she hadn't known that before you said it.

He was Billy, and he was...showered and not hiding out or anything so that lesson in timelines given by Alec was coming to a very quick fruition.

"Your observation skills have gotten fantastic," Kate teased. Embarrassing squealing noise? What embarrassing squealing noise. She hadn't noticed anything. "I can't believe you're here too! When did you come?"
