I'm not going to lie, If McCain had won I'd be pretty damn tempted to jump ship.

I'm sick of people still coming up with lies like "AHHH MUSLIM PRESIDENT!" The sign of a poor campaign is in it's need to ride on lies and scare tactics like "HE'S A SOCIALISM MUSLIM TERRORIST!!!"

It's just mind-boggling to hear people talk about not wanting to live in america anymore when in most cases they're all "God Bless the USA" and I fight for my country. Like my roommate..."I'm going back to puerto rico!". Like, really... Obama won, yes... but he hasn't even stepped foot into office and what can you possibly do about it now.

Like I told Severin, how can we improve without change? Clearly the fiscal policies of the conservative white man hasn't gotten us anywhere...

geez. sorry I rambled on. just a lot of stuff I can't say in public.

Yeah, it's ridiculous.

I am kind of worried there will be too much focus on how historical this is. Yes, it's amazing that we managed to elect a black man, but I certainly did not vote for him because of his ethnicity.

I'm disappointed with stupidity in general. In both parties. I'm disheartened by the girl at work who voted for Obama simply because he's black and because of the people who vandalized Cooper Hall with "Obama '08" as well as the people who refuse to consider Obama because he's black, they think he's Muslim or Communist or whatever. Ignorance just sucks.

Yeah a lot of black people here just wanted him to win so they could throw it in the "white man's" face.

I don't know about them but I voted for the person that seemed like they could do the best job and give me a better future to look forward to.

Hear, hear!

I anticipate that the anti-Obama fervor will die down among the general conservative populace, especially after he takes office and those people realize that the White House has not been replaced with the Kremlin, and no propaganda zeppelins hover over the countryside. His sound judgement, clear vision, and even temper augurs very well for the next four years.
