I was driving in my car when I heard this and heard one person say "he shouldn't say that" and the media paraphrashing Bennett, saying he was just illustrating that "the ends don't justify the means". I think I shouted out loud at this point: "Isn't anyone going to say it isn't right to feel that way!" It's not that he said it, it's that he BELIEVES it, and to defend himself by saying "the ends don't justify the means" further illustrates how much he believes it.

I don't want to live in a world where people can't express ideas for consideration, no matter how ridiculous they may seem on first pass. I know it's a cliche to say this, but I (personally) value the freedom people have to express their ideas. Well, the freedom they should have. The way people are reacting, they make it sound like Bennett doesn't have a right to his opinion. I disagree with this reaction
