Title: The Shoemaker and the Elves
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco

There are so many things I love about this: Draco's stubbornness and the isolation he's been living in, Harry's openness, that the House Elves are so attached to Draco, your beautiful descriptions. I love that it has the spirit of the fairy tale but feels so much deeper.

Lovely fic! I particularly enjoyed seeing how Draco changed for the better. I loved his resilience & humility (& his career seemed suits him really well). ^_^

Beautifully done!
The perfect Christmas story, really, filled with hope and atonement and forgiveness.
This was perfectly adapted, I loved how the fairy tale fit into the HP world and the way Draco (with some help) turned his life around.
Just lovely!

Yes, I was thinking back to the fairy tale, which i saw as a child's play maybe 15 years ago...and realized exactly how perfectly it fit into the HP-verse. I decided it simply had to be written. :)

Thank you for the kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story and I hope you had a lovely holiday season.

I very much enjoyed this. The fairy tale, dream like quality of the early scenes was lovely, and Draco was touching, a bit heart achey and somehow delightfully old-fashioned. When Harry came in, all chaos and charm, it was like a breath of fresh air. I loved their banter by the fire, and Harry not wanting Draco to forget what he'd told him!

The motif of the helpful house-elves was beautiful in this new telling. The tiny shoes! You brought real pathos to this classic tale. Lovely.

Oh, Birds, thank you for this lovely comment. Yes, I very much tried to give this a fairy tale sort of feel as a tribute to the original tale, which I thought fit so perfectly into the HP-verse--it practically begged to be written! Unfortunately, as the deadline approached I had to give up a bit of the purple prose in favor of getting the words down towards the end of the story, but I'm glad that you thought it worked overall. And yes, shoe-maker Draco desperately need a bit of flailing Harry in his life, didn't he? As well as some house elf love, of course! :)

Thank you for reading, my friend. And thanks for the kind words. <3
