Oh, wow. That was really fascinating. I was incredibly intrigued by the whole idea- it’s very clever and creative! I really liked how the premise and that they started working together. They were almost hauntingly mysterious with all the vanishing magical items- and I am still dead curious about what the letter from Petunia was about (and if it was even from Petunia?). I think I am going to have to read this one again, just to try and see if I can gather anything else from it- you have a wonderful mysterious story here. I loved the last line too- it’s very romantic and lovely. Well done!

I'm glad you liked the fic. It may be one of those stories that requires more than one reading?

Thanks for the review! :)

I hate that I can't vote in the poll, because I really want to give you top marks on absolutely everything. This fic was perfect and beautiful and amazing (so well-executed in such a small amount of space!), and it totally blew me away. I really love it and it is going straightaway onto my list of favorites. ♥ well done!

I've been wishing I could vote, too - it's very frustrating, isn't it? (I'd be honest!)

But I'm so happy you enjoyed the story that much! Thanks for your review. :)

i think haunting is the only word for this. or misty, dreamlike, eerie. harry trying to remember hermione's face broke my heart. i love how the gradual losing of the memories almost feels like relief in the end, like freedom. but a freedom that comes with a great price.

amazing work!

Oh, wow. That was.. different? Eerie? I still don't know how to describe what I feel. This is something that will stay with me for a while, that's for sure. I'm a sucker for happy endings with tied-up lose threads normally - but I understand that this one had to end right. there. (as you explained). Art itself is lost on me.. but the artistic value of story-telling is something I adore. And it is some sort of happy ending, after all..

Ah, well, I'm rambling.. I'll leave it at that: I shy away from AU normally - but this one here: really, really good :)

Thank you so much for your review! One of the best compliments ever begins with "I usually don't like..." ;)

As for the ending, at first I wanted to make things more cut-and-dried, but I realized that I could not end the story so happily without some major deus ex machina. Still, I'm also a sucker for happy endings, so I couldn't leave the story on the same *note* as the rest of the fic. So it ended happily without resolving anything? Yes. ;)

I'm glad you enjoyed the fic!
