I really liked the way that you narrated this tale; at first keeping Draco and Harry's perspective separate but them bring them together at end, while at the same time showing the parallels between their lives. Harry's perceived happiness vis-a-vis Draco's hard work to gain happiness and acceptance. Harry's crumbling perspective next to Draco coming into his true self. It was brilliant I liked the way that they came together. Your story was lovely and sad and happy all at once.

What a shock I experience when I saw where this was going and how successfully brave you are in taking us there. I truly enjoyed the episodic nature of the story in which we saw a snapshot over the years of the unraveling of the two families, the utter heartbreak of abuse, and then of the weaving together of the Harry and Draco piece.

This was really sad but the ending, where Harry and Draco found happiness with each other, was lovely. I enjoyed the structure of the fic, and how you showed us only glimpses of their lives and the parallels between them. And I thought the story flowed well. But I'm a little conflicted about the abuse issue, because while half of me wanted to know more about it - what made Ginny abuse her own son like that - the other half, liked it the way it is.

I think several people felt the same way. I was a bit hesitant of tackling the abuse issue straight on because I felt that explaining the reasons why might have made Ginny too sympathetic (for somebody who was abusing her children). Plus, I didn't think it would have gone well with the story structure.

This was really, really good--I've got it ticked in my mind as one of my 2 favorites of the fest so far. I loved the thoughtful introspection and how you kept each thought brief, so it didn't get too self-absorbed. I loved you unveiled the story via precise scenes and short but illuminating lines of dialogue. The characterizations of Harry and Draco were wonderfully straightforward and real. I have to admit the idea of Ginny as a physical child abuser is still a bit shocking to me to have fully sunk in, but I found the presentation to be so clean and effortlessly done. Truly fantastic storytelling here!
