I often feel a bit cheated when there is no attempt at resolution from Harry and Draco. I don't get that sense at all while reading this. It was quite realistic, a little road not taken but mutually acknlowleged. That they both had enough guts to admit they saw the possibility was enough for me this time.

It definitely felt bittersweet to me as well but unlike similar fics, I never got the sense that they're feeling some epic sort of regret that is ruining their current happiness. Though I can imagine that each of them will spare the other a thought whenever they find themselves outside on a clear night.

I really like the title of this, it definitely suits your story. I can totally see the undertones that they could have taken things further, but choose not to. I found that really interesting, because they could have been friends, they could have been something, but they retracted from everything except being mere acquaintances.

You had a path for them to take and other paths to take. Very interesting road map and I really like how simple it is, so you don't exactly have to explain everything out.

Nice work!

I loved that this added another layer to the epilogue. It helps us understand where each Harry and Draco are emotionally, and how they actually feel about each other. I agree with the other comments that though the ending was very bittersweet, you didn't feel like Harry and Draco hated their current situation or regretted their choices. Very simple, great job!

I really like the story you've woven in to the stories we all know here. I found the mentions of the Astronomy Tower to be particularly interesting, since it's often a place for lovers and really seems to be the grounding point to their connection that then lasts a life time. I wish I could have known more about their thoughts- it almost seemed as though they only existed during those interactions. Well, now that I've said that, I realize it can be taken two ways and I like both of them and think they apply to your story (did you intend that?). It could refer to the fact that the rest of their life fades in importance as they spend most of their time pretending anyhow and those are the times when they feel truly themselves and alive, or it could mean that we, as readers, simply don't get to know everything (and I do like to know everything) and get glimpses into their existences to draw what we will from them. I'm not sure if you meant the first, but the second was the more obvious one that first occurred to me. Harry seems as ( ... )
