I usually like reading your entries, so it is no surprise that I like this one too.

But, I have to say that there is something different about this one. A fresh, honest, real vibration. A unique, individual voice that I have not noticed before. Good stuff.

I have had a lot happen, lately, and have decided that honesty and a personal feel have a lot to do with good art; to heck with what everyone else thinks. Many thanks to you.

I'm not gonna compliment you! Well... Maybe. podyma February 23 2007, 06:26:52 UTC
I was confused by your entry, at first...

you said you wanted to make music, "The kind of music you want to slow dance to, or have your first kiss to [...]"

but you also said you wanted it to be "Good Music."

I thought, "Mr. Ruiz, no one slow dances to good music. It's worthless and they know it"

I kept reading...

You: "[I wanted to write something that would play] someone’s car as they moved in for a first kiss. Why couldn’t I write something good?"

I thought, "you mean like 'I Want to Know What Love Is' by Foreigner? What the hell is wrong with you man!?"

I kept reading...

You.. "You don’t have to be original, especially if it’s impossible. But you do have to be honest"

I'll be damned. I've been thinking the same way as you all this time.

Thanks for a damn fine insight there, J-Ru.

So how the heck ARE you, anyway? I hope this first year of college has taken you to the learning desk more than not; I have a feeling you've grown up some...

Thank you for reading, and for commenting; I quite miss the good ole days, but have a feeling that as I continue to be honest, and even more with myself, that more writing like this will be born.
