I left Miss Edgecombe and message in the event she does wish to speak with me. I do hope she takes me up on my offer.
Poppy, are you planning on contacting her mother to explain to her the latest developments, or will I be left with this arduous task would you rather I do it?

I'm more than willing to report on the medical aspects, but as to providing an explanation of the Ministry's part in the matter I don't know if I'm the right person to do so. It's your decision, since you're her Head of House.
I do hope that she eventually chooses to speak with you. She needs to speak to an adult about this -- an adult not her mother, and not with the Ministry, and not me. As one of my instructors at St Mungo's back in the 'thirties used to say, "It's one thing to be sick all over someone, but it's another thing to spill your guts to them." First and foremost, though, I think she needs to talk to someone who isn't her own age. Perspective, and all that.

I will write to Madam Edgecombe, then. I do hope she does not confront Percy Weasley immediately after she receives my letter, though. I would hate to be in his shoes.
I hope so, too. She worries me, the poor dear. But everything will be fine, I hope know. It is always good in the end.
