On my journal page, the last twenty entries I've written, the latest entry I see is  from about two and a half YEARS ago.
So looking over the page has been a little bit.... weird.

Don commented that he wanted to take care of me more than he was at the time, being as we were in a long-distance relationship.

The scare he had is over.  Things progressed really fast but right now he's stable and he's in, from what I can tell, good spirits.

I will (unless another scare happens but it doesn't seem likely) be able to see him when I leave in a week as planned.

 My father has cancer and is dying.

I thought I would be able to see him before.  We made flight arrangements...

But things are progressing so quickly and I might not get to.

I was never one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them together again and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken -- and I'd rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken places as long as I lived.

I'm in Canada with my boyfriend DonMonkeyman. My visa thingie got extended until the end of this year, and I hope to get it extended again. That happens through marriage, me getting a job, or basically the Canadian government being nice and deciding I'm not a drain on their system.
