Hi healthy people!

So a little about me: I used to be overwieght in highschool, and have lost 30 pounds slowly since then. I am at a healthy weight for me now, but have wanted to loose the last 10 pounds for a while. I lead a pretty healthy lifestyle already, I am pretty active, and enjoy making healthy food, and I was watching my calories for about ( Read more... )

This is all really good advice! The little taste thing doesn't work for me. And I can't ignore the craving, or replace it :( bleh. Working on getting rid of the cravings though.

I've been tryyying to get my hubby to plan out meals. Hopefully once I graduate I'll take over that part lol.

I have the same issue. I am seriously addicted to sugar and cannot control the amount of it I eat. It used to be easy to just not eat it, but then I got a bad friend who influenced me to eat it again and haven't been able to kick it since. I've heard that if you go without it for two weeks, your body stops craving it. The problem is finding foods that don't have it in there :/

Same, no way I could ever have just one bite of something delicious. The worst for me is chocolate chips cookies, I make them from scratch sooo damn good, so what i've been doing is making them, saving 2 or 3 for myself(to be eaten on separate days) and then giving the other dozen or so to my boyfriend to bring with him to work. The guys love it, I can still make something I love and get to eat, but I swear if all those cookies were in the house..I would eat em. I really wish I could control my cravings though so I would never have this problem:/

This post is so awesome I added it to my favorites. My one and only favorite, ever!

So many of these things are so easy for me to forget, but you're right, they're so effective.

Thanks! and I agree, they are easy to forget, that's why I just wanted to actually sit down and write them out, on their own they're pretty small changes but together they really add up!

The small plate thing works really well for me - it's not so much that it tricks me into thinking I ate more food, it just helps me moderate portion control and pause to think whether or not I really do want to go back for seconds. If I use a big plate, I'll still fill it all the way up and still eat every last bite on it, needed or not ( ... )

That's a good one! I'm trying to do this as much as possible. I make my own soup because of the sodium content in canned soups, and it's true about the "I made this" factor, makes lunch way more exciting than just getting out a can opener. I make my own granola bars too. I find cooking from scratch sounds intimidating, but you can always find pretty easy and cheap recipes online.

Great post, thank you! I like the idea of making my plates all pretty. I already use the smaller plates and dishes, but I'll give the rest a try too.
