Let it go unstated: Adam was fond of Gabriel and somewhat dazzled by Annatar, but Cedric. Oh, Cedric. Young and vital, bloody sexy and able to clean up Adam's flat with the wave of his wand! When Cedric agreed to come over, well, Adam went into a tizzy of activity, finally deciding on wearing his sarong. Buttons? A few, but not many, haha!
And there was the little issue of Adam not being able to cook. Whoopsy! A call took care of that, though he was reminded that he needed to get a job to begin to pay down his tab. Whoopsy again! So he started music playing softly in the background and did one last check in the mirror before pulling open the door, doing his best to look come-hither. "Well, hello," he said, struck again by how good looking Cedric was.
"Hello, yourself." Cedric said, taking in Adam's outfit with a smile. "That looks very comfortable, I must say. How have you been keeping?" He leaned in to give Adam a light kiss.
"I've been wonderful, thank you." Grinning and bouncing on the balls of his feet, truth told. It might be easy to forget that Adam was eight years older than Cedric. He pulled him in and let the door shut. "And yourself, mm?" He was guiding Cedric toward his small sofa.
"Ah, work." Adam's tone fell flat and he wrinkled his nose. "I need to find it too, it seems. Where will you be working? I'll visit ... " Said coyly, with a bat of lashes. If Cedric wanted visitors, that is.
"I'll be over in the Apothecary, brewing potions and such." Cedric said. "Yes, if you aren't a student, the place seems to expect you to find work. Otherwise, it'll find it for you, and sometimes it has some odd notions."
Cedric shrugs. "It can take different forms. Sometimes you might find the keys to a place on your table or a name tag, that sort of thing. Once the village makes it's decision, apparently, it keeps pestering. I'm not sure what would happen if you were stubborn and kept holding out."
"I expect I'm making it sound worse than it is, but I'd encourage you to have a look around. There are several shops, bars, and other places. I'm sure you'd find something to your liking."
"I keep meaning to find a Draco gent, or a place called 'Hidden Franks.'" Adam toyed with Cedric's fingers. That was enough about work. "Can I pour you some wine?"
"I know him - perhaps I can introduce you." Cedric said, smiling. "Some wine would be lovely. Not too much, though. I wouldn't want to lose control and do myself a mischief."
"No, of course you wouldn't," Adam purred. He stood, fetching the bottle and glasses and bringing them back to sit and pour. "Food should be here, soon."
"And lovers," Adam added, clinking their glasses together and taking a sip. "So! I feel like I should learn more about you." Something he didn't think about usually. "What makes you tick?" he asked, leaning closer on his elbows.
"Well, for a long time I ate, drank, and slept school." Cedric admitted, taking a sip as well. "Since coming here, though, I've discovered that there are other things in life."
He smiled. "I'd never thought of being with another man before, for example."
"A very friendly and worldly man." Cedric said, thinking of Damon. "With the bluest eyes in the world. He'd have taken 'no' for an answer, but the only answer I had was 'yes'."
"How about yourself? When did you realize that you liked the company of gentlemen?"
