I've discovered an enforcer stationed in my office.

She's the director of the local resource agency that shares an office with my federal agency. I guess she's threatened by me or something, because last weekend she apparently decided to go for a drive in the country, and just happened to wander 30 miles up Mines Road and drive by my house, where ( Read more... )

Surely when they hired you they asked about the color of your gate. This is not the sort of thing we can let slip by - first a purple gate and next... oh, wait, what is it we're afraid of?

One wonders! I could tell her some colorful things about the ranchers around here who she thinks are so normal... but I probably shouldn't.

No, don't tell her anything "colorful" - you're in enough trouble for the purple. ;)

Yep. One time she came to me and tried to give me some Christian books on tape. To listen to on my long drive, see, because I must get terribly bored and wouldn't I like something to listen to while I'm going up and down the mountain?

Yeah! Or, somebody should invent a pocket-sized music player you could hook headphones to and listen to your music on the go. Then, I'd never be bored while driving!

I think you covered it very nicely in your post, but I have to share in your amazement at this co-worker. I am truly sorry you are hit with this sort of thing at the work place, or anywhere for that matter.

A bunch of people pointed that out. I am not sure, it's kind of on the line. What I didn't mention is that she once lived out near where I am, so has an ostensible reason for driving out there other than to snoop on me. I dunno. I am likely to conclude that it would cause me more problems than it would solve to call it harassment at this point.
