i need some really thick curtains to block out the light and cold air from outside. which fabric would work best? for some reason, the only fabric that pops into my mind on a never ending loop is: velvet, velvet, velvet! yikes! i'm not that goth.

ikea has some velvet curtains in not-so-goth colors like blue and brown. also overstock.com has some inexpensive curtains (and some super hideous curtains), and shipping is just $1!
