I really hope Bonnie won't suffer too much next season with this new Jeremy thing, but I have a feeling she's not going to get off easy. /: As long as they don't kill her off...*fingers crossed*
I hate that too. I probably wouldn't have minded if Damon died (even though I don't dislike him as much as you do xD) but I'm also afraid for characters like Jeremy or Caroline. They could die as easy as that too. /:
Ugh, I am going to spend the hiatus pretending that Elena only had nostalgia goggles for Damon because he was dying, and now totally regrets the whole kissing-and-forgiving stuff. I know that this will be shattered next season, but I have three months of hope, dammit.
I'm happy that Stefan's getting his own storyline, and I do like evil!Stefan, but if it fucks with Stefan Salvatore: Respecter of His Girlfriend's Choices and Best Boyfriend Ever, I'll be pissed.
But, yeah, I don't know how they can portray Damon as this tortured hero when the scene with him biting Elena was basically portrayed just like a rape scene. Like, actually cannot wrap my head around it.
I'm interested in seeing where they take Jeremy and Bonnie, and share your hopes that Caroline will get a more central storyline, but this is definitely not how I envisioned the season ending when I was watching the end of the first season/beginning of this one, and this is definitely not how I imagined feeling about it.
That's the thing, most of the time it's pretty clear that Elena doesn't feel that way about Damon, which makes scenes like that one so weird.
I think when Stefan's in his right mind nothing stops him from being the best boyfriend ever. I hope they don't take things too far next season, much as I enjoyed his similar arc at the end of S1.
Julie Plec has SAID that Damon's a hero in villain's clothing. I...don't know what to say to that. Not when Stefan is the CLEAR HERO between the two, just by virtue of not being a rapist. I don't get it at all.
This episode was less a culmination of S2 than a setup for S3--everything felt random, tbh.

That's how the whole thing read to me. Let's face it, girl just lost two significant people in her life; I feel like she's say just about anything (and mean it at the time) in an unconscious effort to keep even more people in her life from dying.
I feel like the writers have been good about keeping Elena mostly sane when it comes to Damon, so there's hope yet. And if we get epic Elena fighting for her man? Well, color me happy.
I don't understand Klaus' obsession with Stefan and can only assume he wants to bone him. Just ask, buddy. Just ask. lol, I kind of thought this too~ (but who can blame him? Stefan is perfect)
They HAVE kept Elena mostly sane when it comes to Damon, I admit I've been pleasantly surprised, but the writers have made just enough self-undermining decisions in that department for me to worry.
I would LOVE an arc about Elena getting Stefan back; I'm sure we'll get that too. She and Damon will probably embark on a mission. I do believe Elena/Stefan is the show's OTP but they also keep trying to make Damon/Elena fans happy too and it just leads to a lot of extra scenes that are jarring for me to watch. Elena never seems to be attracted to Damon but they keep giving each other Looks anyway, etc.

Haha I hate that the only safe characters are Elena, Damon and Stefan.
