♥!!!!!!!!!! I felt the same way about the moments with our boy and our girl. Also, the final scene at the epilogue? It's the trio, as it should be, and I actually felt sorry for Ginny because...well, it's always the trio.
It is SO WEIRD that the Lavender scene bugged me SO MUCH since I didn't even particularily care for her character to begin with, but her death was the only death that shouldn't have been a death. AND YES. IT BOTHERED ME. (But Trelawney and Parvati covering her up almost made me cry. o.o SO WEIRD)
The H/Hr was still SO MUCH MORE WELL DONE THAN THE R/Hr...You aren't the only one unable to let that go. Script writers and directors have the problem too.
Though the epicness of all the final scenes being THESE THREE. LOOK AT THESE AMAZING MOFOs made me very. Very. Happy. My OT3 shipper was in over-tired glee mode for much of these films and the epilogue did not in any way help.
I love Lavender, I've always disliked how JKR treated her, like she was the wrong kind of girl just because she wasn't Hermione, so yeah, I'm definitely burned about her death. Especially the finality of it, as you said, with the body. Auggggh. Unnecessary. It's not like there weren't enough bodies already.
Yeah... Kloves and Yates wear their love for Hermione and H/Hr on their sleeves most of the time. I'd be lying if I said I minded but yeah. From a writing standpoint it's not the best thing to give such selective attention to things, I MEAN I GUESS. XP
But definitely, it was EPIC. Every moment was tense and amazing and a lot of characters got a chance to shine if briefly. (The Trio is my happy place, always. I'll always resent the epilogue for undermining the OT3 perfection of the final chapter.)
Ah, ty for the refresher on the Molly/Bella scene! It's been a while for me too, heh. But yeah, I remember it all being more resonant when I was reading.
Haha! YOU'RE ONLY HUMAN. And ilu. I actually grew to appreciate Ron/Hermione in DH as someone who easily and regularly ships Hermione with almost everyone, so it's all good. Hermione and Harry (and Dan and Emma) are just gorgeous together in the movies, it's a little ridiculous.
LOL I think I read a quote once from Dan that said they were all major horndogs somewhere around the 4th and 5th films, because they were the only people any of them knew. Dan cracks me up.<3
I am beyond pissed about this Lavender thing, enough that my already sort of 'eh' level of enthusiasm for the film has dimmed significantly.
Make changes to the book all you want -- god knows this book could use some tightening up and some modification -- but butchering Lavender sends such an unpleasant message.
It's just kind of a slap in the face? And from the spoilers I saw I didn't know that not only does Fenrir SEEM to have killed her in the scene itself, they're also covering her body later, removing all doubt. Just...unnecessary, especially since there were already enough dead people to cry over.
The Ollivander scene! I forgot to talk about that. I remember getting chills when Dan called him out and said, "You're lying." idk why. He just really seemed like he was running shit in that moment. Wonderful, brave boy &hearts _____ &hearts
There was something about Dan/Harry's presence in those questioning scenes. Just so grown up and a little wily. I guess it's just a side to him we don't see as much when he's around his peers.
