ARRRGH!!!

My scale seems to be stuck, other than sometimes going up or down 3 lbs.  I am so frustrated with my lack of weight loss success this summer.  I admit that I had one week where I slacked off, but for the most part, I have made a conscious effort to get in 300 minutes of aerobic cardio each week (roughly an hour a day 5-6 days of the week).  I do ( Read more... )

As you read in my entry, I feel you. I have been working out 3-4 times a week for about an hour each time. Tracking my calories so that I stay between 1,500 and 2,200 (although 1,800-1,900 is most typical) and watching what types of food I eat as well as instigating all other sorts of food rules. Rules such as "no food in bed, no eating 2 hours before going to sleep, only healthy snacks after dinner, dinner is eaten veggies first protein second and carbohydrates last in order to fill up on the good stuff, only diet soda when I eat out at a restaurant" etc etc. And not only did I maintain weight for a while doing this, I am not starting to go up. There is nothing more frustrating. My options at this point it seems are 'don't eat, or don't care.' I'm torn.

Anyways, yeah, as I said, I totally sympathize with you.

I figured that's what you meant. As to the "don't eat or don't care" part of me is half considering (so I guess that would be quarter considering) diet pills or looking into surgery, though both are risky and expensive. I wish I could be bulimic again sometimes (I was for awhile not on purpose, but out of stress... couldn't eat, and even the smell of food made me nauseated), or sometimes I'm like "I haven't lost weight still?!?! I was junk food then!"

Most people on my dad's side of the family struggle with their weight, while my mom's side of the family all can eat junk food and be no bigger than a size medium.

But we CAN do this!.... i hope....

I apparently just need more/better motivation. I've been trying to get into the workout/diet thing for a while now. I wish I could say that I'm doing as well as you two are but I'm not. I have increased my water intake and in turn lowered my soda intake. I have also been very good about not eating out at fast food restaurants and if I do have to pick something up for lunch at work, I've been getting turkey sandwiches from Jimmy Johns instead of other fast food. I did spend like a week trying to work out (ie running on my treadmill) but after only about 4 days my knee hurt so bad I could hardly make it through my regular day. So, of course, I stopped. I need to start back up again and only do like every other day or something. But yeah. I remember back to the days of a bagel for lunch with a school sized milk container. And that being the first thing I ate all day. And I say to myself, why can't you cut calories like that anymore!?! But we all know it's not healthy or right. *sigh* We all just need to keep at it.
