failing at being an adult

on sunday, lizi and i wandered into the church for a laugh and we happened upon goth 80s prom. which was not as cool as our 80s prom but was still quite fun. nothing like dancing and singing along to tiffany and nkotb while a bunch of goths try to take it very seriously. good times ( Read more... )

oh wow. i wish i could have seen the goth prom. just the mental image alone is hilarious. how does one "goth dance" to nkotb?

just make sure you clear up those checks before you get the city of denton hunting your ass down five years after the fact, and you end up spending a gazillion dollars on court costs for a stupid $25 check you accidentally bounced at walmart in 1999. good times.

yup. I'm going home today and looking them up and then calling the companies and begging mercy on whatever fees they're going to want to charge me.

it was weird on sunday. i think they hired some other dj b/c he kept playing really poppy stuff that was certainly 80s but no cure or new order or anything even slightly goffick. i was too busy laughing during 'the right stuff' to pay attention to the dancing.

that is AWESOME. this dude that i work with at job #37597636507345 (the restaurant gig) made a cd for us to use as background music, and it's the shittiest collection of music of all time. all crappy MOR radio hits from the last 10 years and crap like that. you ever wanted to hear barenaked ladies, shania twain, aerosmith (but not old aerosmith - that armageddon soundtrack shit), and the killers all on one cd? come on by! i've heard it eleventy billion times. also, he didn't randomize the tracks before burning it to cd (i think he pretty much just burned his entire mp3 collection), so all of the bands are grouped together, in alphabetical order. ANYWAY, my point is that at least once a night, i get to wait tables to the greatest block of NKOTB hits, and it never ceases to amuse me.

i think i like two aerosmith songs and hate all others. and barenaked ladies ceased to be amusing after 1994. but nkotb will always make me giggle!
