Anti-OTP: Quincey/Hedda

*Somewhere in the middle of the forest, a gunshot is heard. And, if anyone happens to be there, they will see Hedda, her cheeks flushed, throwing her head back and laughing as though shooting a pistol is a huge, glorious joke.*

*the sight of a lady with a gun is strange enough, and Hedda's laughter makes it stranger to Quincey -- and of course, gentleman that he is, his first thought is that something is wrong, that something has happened to make her behave so oddly.* Something the matter, ma'am? *his voice is all gentle concern in smooth Southern tones, that genuine wanting to help and see others well that is his nature*

Nothing's the matter at all. Why would there be? *pause* I haven't met you before. You're American, aren't you?

You seemed . . . unsettled. *unsettling, is the implication, but he'd never say it* Yes, ma'am, I am. *clearly proud* Born and raised in Texas.

Oh, I'm not. These are one of my greatest joys. *lifts her pistol with a smile* Texas! I've heard exciting things about it there.
