some of you may or may have not noticed that a couple of nights ago we lost water supply for a while. This happened while I had our washer/direr ready to run on timer (having economy 7 anything electrical that can be overnighted it is), I do not know if before the timer started the machine or after. Almost certainly, your water supply terms and conditions will include a clause saying that as long as they fixed things within a particular timescale, they are not liable for damages. But if there is no such clause, it's worth a try.

I've never had to deal with a washer-dryer, but I know that if you're at all technically minded, the inside of a washing machine is pretty straight forward, and once you've got the lid off you should be able to sort it out. Having said that, the last time I had to do anything with a washing machine was over 10 years ago, and my guess would be that they've changed a lot since then.
