Hahaha! I feel better, now. I try not to talk around the opposite sex. If I do, I flail mentally for words, then say the wrong thing, then get embarrassed, then say more stupid things to try to prevent them from realizing I'm embarrassed.

One time, someone gave me their phone number to ask me out, and I wasn't interested, but I still had to embarrass myself by saying (loudly enough for everyone around us): "You'll ruin my plans to be a Crazy Cat Lady." <--complete with sadface and all.
