I'm just floored by how much joy there was for this yesterday on ONTD, as bashing H/Hr shippers used to be their favorite sport.

If you wanted it, you shoulda put a ring on it, i.e., she shoulda wrote that when she wrote the books. Authorial intent doesn't impress me. Especially not authorial intent ipso facto.

If I didn't have to put up with Brannon Braga's asshattery when he was writing Trek or DC's asshattery with the new 52, I sure as help don't care about Rowling's after the fact meanderings. This includes comments of hers that support and deny my fannish insights. They bear little weight in my books but serve to diminish the author in my esteem as a vacillating bumbler.

This is hilarious. I love JKR and I think she has every right to write HP AUs and corrective fanfics, just like anyone else. ;-) Maybe in another 10 years, she'll realize that Harry wouldn't have been any better for Hermione than Ron, and she'll pair Hermione up with Snape or Kingsley. :-) :-) :-)
