I am just enjoying the sudden burst of all of the old crowd, posting and commenting. I'm glad Rowling had the gust to admit that she was wrong, a bit sad because it's not like she's going to rewrite the books, and a little bit enjoying the wailing and gnashing of teeth in some quarters.

No, I think she got it right the first time.

For a little while today everything was HP again, and I enjoyed that. :)

I'm still a R/Hr shipper no matter what she says, though, and she can't change canon now~

H/Hr would have left Ron on the outskirts and splintered the trio entirely, so unless the end of that friendship was what JKR was going for, I'm not sure how she would have written it, even! It's interesting to see all the Harmonians coming out of the woodwork, haha.

Hermione was too sharp for either of those guys.

Actually, I can't think offhand of a suitable match for her in that series -- just temporary flings as she went through stages of sexual development.

She and Amadeus Cho would make an interesting couple, though.

HERMIONE: Today I launched an interdisciplinary analysis aimed at establishing where, when, and why the gene mutation responsible for magical potential first appeared in H. sapiens.

RON: My arse hurts.

HERMIONE: Because you sat on the remote control... Did you know ontegeny recapitulates philogeny?

wtf. I mean, okay, fine, I'm not opposed, and I'm happy for all the shippers, and sure this will inspire another few good years in fanfic. But wtf is it with JKR retconning canon through interviews? Sigh.
