Every time I see another "We're all Doomed!" sort of headline pertaining to the economy, I burst into hysterical laughter. I don't suppose it's really all that funny, but it is starting to get out of hand. And, well, I suppose it really shouldn't be funny at all to me in specific, given my lack of a job that is really providing me with enough ( Read more... )

I may be going out later tonight, not sure yet on that. Otherwise, I just finished making this: http://www.unholymenace.com/displayimage.php?pos=-5055

I don't have plans yet for Sunday. Monday, Jo's having anyone who wants to over to his place for some sort of communal homeless people thanksgiving. So far it's just three of us, but if you're not occupied on Monday, you're more than welcome, bring food and people...

Er, and next weekend I'll have my sisters in from out of town, and we'll be up to random meyhem. Hard to say what all we'll get up to.

On the subject of the economy, I have nearly the same reaction. being in DC for the past week, and picking up a paper every day, I saw all the headlines foretell a grim future for one and all. The thing is, I have been looking at this as a positive thing for Maire_mac and I.

Granted, I know several people who have lost a lot of cash the past two weeks, and I am not happy about that, but the overall thought that I have been having is that this recession is going to enable me to sort of jump start investment, such as buying a house, putting money away for retirement, and possibly starting a business. The only worrying thing for me is making enough money to make it all happen during the recession.

The other positive thought I have coming out of this is that, since the recession is almost worldwide, it will bring down prices for traveling for the next few years, letting me go places I thought I would not be able to afford until much later in life.
