i saw lisa ekdahl (swedish singer i'd listened to before coming here--when i told my host sister and her (our) friends this they were shocked) at liseberg last night. there was something amazing about seeing lovely live music in truly swedish weather (on and off rain) at the biggest theme park in scandinavia.

today i got a haircut. that was fun. my first haircut that i went to and paid for by myself. i took the bus. i can use public transportation alone. i know which buses are which and where they go. after my haircut i bought one roll of film and a bus card. i forgot to mention: on saturday, while we were watching tjörn runt, i saw a viking ship. seriously. it had huge grey and red striped sails and a danish flag. i didn't get a picture (my camera was in the boat and this was when we were at my host aunt and uncle's summer house) but my host parents' friend did. maybe i can get him to send it to me. it ( Read more... )

i spent this weekend on a boat with 8 other people: 4 parents, one other exchange student (dora from iceland), and 3 children aged 15, 15, and 13.

it was fun, but kind of nuts. and cramped!
we went to some islands and watched a sailboat race.
