Chris Carmichael tells me to eat. Much like the Galloway Heresy that you can run faster by occasionally walking, I'm amazed at the people who freak out that I'm losing weight (3lbs this week) while getting 60% of my calories from carbs.
Losing weight really IS just as simple as this: eat fewer calories than you need.

It's like local, organic eggs...they aren't any different food wise and I cringe (or worse) when people suggest that it's so. To me, it detracts from the important ideas that local food is good on many levels and taking better care with the chickens laying the eggs is the right thing to do.

I have a question for you. My friend just started personal training and he trainer asked her if she does any exercise and she said she runs about 15k a week. He then told her that running is brutal, you get nothing out of it ither than it messing up your leg musles.
So my question is, along with a healthy low fat diet what are the benefits of running three times a week (about 4k each time) in terms of weight loss?
