Garden Update
Stuff is growing!
I put in a row of lavender in the front yard last weekend. I hope it liked the rain. I also put in purple sage, basil, and thyme in the veggie beds.
The veggies are looking vigorous for the most part. The tomatoes are 3' tall, the onions are looking happy, the cukes and zuke are doing their thing, the lettuce is quite perky. The ( Read more... ) -
Bearing Fruit
I'm excited! Two of the blueberry bushes we put in are developing berries! The red currant has a few fruit developing, too. I didn't expect to see them bear fruit while so young. Yippee!

Math Error
I'm working on the curtains for the library (still). I sewed the first panel together, put on all the finishing touches except the hem and then hung them up. They are *way* too long - even with the hem allowance. I looked at my math again ( Read more... ) -
I have a new pet peeve!
I've been reading a lot of nonfiction lately in an effort to feel like an adult and get edumacated.
I've run into a several books now where the designer/whoever does the layout puts part of the text in a call-out box to call attention to it. I find it aggrivating. I understand that someone thinks the sentence is important and all, but since it's not ( Read more... ) -

Paper Direct fail
At the end of January, I ordered some stationery online. It's a company I've bought from before, so I didn't think much more about it. Around Valentine's Day, I realized I hadn't gotten the package and checked the order status. It showed that the package had been delivered to my old address ( Read more... ) -
I love made up holidays
Happy International Polar Bear Day! It's a day to, uh, celebrate polar bears who travel internationally. I think. Maybe.

Some say that, when they die, they will be suspended in a vat of all the alcohol they have spilled and forced to drink it.
This will not happen to me. For me, it will be frosting.

It's just another day. I'm so unromantic about New Year's Eve. I've just never found anything special about the changing of the calendar.
The rest of the holiday season was delightful, though. Much humor and good spirits. And ham. -
Giving Thanks
I'd just like to pause here to give thanks for all the wonderful oddities and delightful discoveries that make life so interesting and humorous.
For instance, our local Buddhist Church has weekly bingo nights.
Ah, nothing says embrace emptiness like "B-11".
